Mexico has been selected as this year's honorary host country. In celebration of popular Mexican culture, to host the colorful and dramatic spectacle of a Lucha Libre Match presented by the World Council of Wrestling (CMLL) for the first time in Switzerland, Cuadrilátero, presented by Jinetes Sampleadores de Im@genes and Ignacio Mejía, showcases young emerging mexican talent who work around the lucha libre theme.
"La Lucha Libre" is a fascinating and enigmatic sport with props, costumes and roots in Europe. Lucha Libre matches are popular in Mexico, the U.S., Europe and Japan, being the Mexican style known as Lucha Libre, whose dynamic confronts the forces of good, otherwise called "técnicos", and the forces of evil - the "rudos" or "rudes"- both have fights where one can clearly sense feelings embodied such as suffering, victory, martrydom, pain, fury, treason, and reconciliation. These raw emotions are reinterpreted in each match by the signal of an ocarina, an ancient flute-like wind instrument when either of the opponents fall.
